If you want to have a few hours out and meet other people why not come along to our Lunch club held every Tuesday at The Salvation Army Hall, Swan Street.
This starts at 12.30 pm but people are welcome to arrive any time after 11 am.
The cost is £3.50 and this includes a main course, dessert, tea or coffee.
One example of a meal could be: Roast beef and Yorkshire pudding, roast potatoes, roast parsnips, carrots, cabbage and gravy then apple pie & custard.
We finish at 1.45 pm in time for CAMEO to begin at 2 pm. You are welcome to stay and continue the fellowship with others
Everyone is assured of a warm welcome
The aim of the CAMEO group is to have an afternoon of fun, laughter, a sing-song, and a little bit of Spiritual infilling. It's a chance to get together with like-minded people, make new friends & have fun.
Though we are mainly aimed at the more mature age group, we have members who are in their 40's. All are welcome to come and join in the fun.
We meet on a Tuesday afternoon between about 2 & 3 pm. No need to make any prior arrangements, just come along and join in.
As well as regular weekly meetings, we have occasional guest speakers who come with a wealth of diverse knowledge and enlighten us with interesting talks. In addition we take once yearly day trips to various places of interest, usually chosen by the group themselves. In the past we have been to Swanage in Dorset; Hadleigh Farm, Exbury Gardens and London.
Every October we arrange a trip to Fernham Hall in Fareham where we join with other Salvation Army groups like ours from all over the South, for one massive Rally of fun. We all agree that it's a really good day out and we look forward to the following year.
So, if you need to get out of the house, if you like to let your hair down a little bit and want to make new friends, just turn up on the day!
We look forward to welcoming you.
OPEN DOOR is a place
where anyone can come
for a chat, a listening ear,
a drink (tea/coffee), a place of prayer, where food can be brought for the food bank or even to collect food parcels if there is a need.
We are open Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday between 9.30 & 11.30 am.
This is run by volunteers from The Salvation Army who are always willing to help
in whatever way possible. Unfortunately, there may be times when we are not able to assist, but in these situations we are willing to point you in the direction of people who may be able to help you out.
We are not here to judge anyone but to show that love, care and compassion and a friendly face that some people may need.
The Salvation Army opened the first labour exchange to help get people back into employment.
2018, and we are still doing it today.
If you’re looking for work and you need support, then why not come along to our Job Club (Employment Plus Local).
You’ll find us at The Salvation Army, Swan Street, Petersfield every Wednesday afternoon from 1 pm to 3 pm where there’ll be a cup of tea, and one of our team ready to help you.
